With the opening of the Irabu Bridge on January 31, 2015, access to Miyako Island has become more convenient. Sightseeing spots and sweets such as “17 END” , “Nakayukui shop (Sweet shop)” which appeared in our previous post can also be enjoyed in a day trip.
If you want to take your time, you want to travel as an adult, staying overnight is recommended.
From your window, you can enjoy the natural activity of the fishes!

Irabu island stay hotel
Irabu island has many resorts hotel.
Let’s find your likely.
But my recommended hotel is “Villabu resort"
The reason for recommending this is the one cottage for rent.
Located in a quiet area of Irabu Island, And it comes with a swimming pool and a garden,also ocean view!
Check-in is done in a dedicated building.
Welcome drink and sweets.
The sweets are the exquisite "brown sugar sponge cake" by Nagasakiya, available only get on Irabu Island.
I bought it at Nagasakiya as a souvenir on my way home, but there were only two left. They often sell out.
Taste is gently and more rich flavor of raw sugar.
After check-in, you are in your room.
The large open windows allow you to enjoy the ocean, private pool, and garden.
Hibiscus was just in bloom.
In the morning, birdsong, and at night, the chirping of "geckos" are lullabies. A space where you can feel nature and relax.
You can enjoy a private barbecue (for a fee) at the pavilion in the garden if you ask for it when you check in.
And welcome fruit!
Beer and soft drinks in the fridge can be enjoyed free of charge.
Also a wine cellar!
There is a charge for this.

The rooms are well furnished with beds, bathrooms, and amenities.
Amenities brand is L'OCCITANE
The shower in the bath is separated from the rain shower room and the bathtub.
You can also have a Jacuzzi!
Also a great service!
A large eco-bag and flip-flops are a gift!
You can take them home as a memory of your trip.
Or you could just relax in your room...
You can also visit the side of the front desk.
There is a private beach and a spot where you can look out over the ocean.
It is ask in advance, there was a breakfast service on the private beach for one group only.
It is good locationand you can specially experience.
But I visited day as strong wind,I didn't use this option (As of Feb. 2023)
Dinner Suggestions
As mentioned earlier, dinner can be enjoyed at the hotel.
A private BBQ while listening to the sound of the waves, or a course meal at the hotel restaurant.

Downtown Miyakojima City!
Because I like to drink a lot of alcohol, izakaya style.
It takes about 20 minutes by car from Irabu Island to the city.
We used designated driver service on the way back!
Miyako Island's unique cuisine and
Taco rice cooked in an earthenware pot! What an interesting menu!
You can also enjoy a luxurious experience at the hotel!
Or you can go casually to downtown Miyakojima City and find your favorite restaurant!
